Why Us?
Support
We're a little different at thewebhostcompany.com, bringing old world service into the new economy. Remember the good old days when people took pride in their work, and service meant something? At thewebhostcompany.com we know you work hard for your money, and if you see fit to spend some of that hard earned money with us, then we ought to be working hard for it too. That's our philosophy, and it's what sets us apart.
Good service means a lot of different things to different people though. Would you consider helping customers learn Perl and PHP to be good service? Well, we've done that. It's way beyond the scope of what tech support ought to be... but if you're really stuck, you can feel free to direct your programming questions to tech support. We're here to help, whatever the issue may be.
We also run a newsletter to help our customers learn how to promote their online businesses successfully. An unprofitable website will inevitably lead to a cancelled hosting account. Our success is tied to your success. We don't simply want to be your web host, we want to be a valued partner in your business.
Money Back Guarantee
For the first 30 days, you're covered by an unconditional, no-questions asked 100% money back guarantee*
After the first 30 days, you're covered by our 99.9% up-time guarantee. Nobody's perfect, and if we drop the ball we hope you'll give us an opportunity to make it right. But, business is business and if your site goes down for any reason on our end (other than scheduled maintenance), and you wish to cancel as a result, then we'll refund your current month's hosting fees.
*100% money back guarantee applies only to hosting service fees. Domain registration fees are explicitly excluded.
No Contracts
The trend in the hosting industry today seems to be to advertise an ultra-low monthly price, but in order to take advantage of that price you have to lock yourself in by pre-paying for a year or even longer. Some even go so far as to require a 5 year pre-paid term in order to get their lowest price. Sure, you can get hosting for $5/month but it's going to cost you $300 up-front to get it... and if you're dissatisfied with the service after a few months, or even just a few days... well, maybe that's what they're counting on.
We only charge for our services on a monthly basis. We charge the lowest rates we possibly can while actually providing the service our customers pay for. That means we don't rely on dissatisfied customers leaving after the first few months in order to free up system resources we never had any intention of providing. We won't take $300 from you for 5 years of service and then hope you leave after 5 days. By charging one month at a time, and ONLY one month at a time... we have to serve our customers this month in order to ensure they continue to pay us next month.
No Nickel and Diming
There are costs associated with running any business, and hosting is no exception. But there are all sorts of extras you can be nickeled and dimed for which have no additional cost to provide. When you can automatically set up extra databases, email accounts, domains, subdomains, etc. in your control panel and it's just taking up disk space you're already paying for, then why should you have to pay extra for these things?
We bear costs associated with advertising, disk space, bandwidth, IP addresses, domain registration, tech support, system maintenance and upgrades, and transaction fees for processing payments. That's it. We've worked out exactly how much this costs us, added a reasonable margin, and worked out a reasonable monthly price for our service.
